Song from Siyuewu Village
Siyuewu Village is located in Puxi Township, Rangtang County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
The songs in this collection include a milking song that is sung by women while milking yaks or cows, a dreaming song that can be sung by men and women that emphasizes a dream‘s connection with good fortune, and an auspicious song that is sung by men and women. This collection only represents a small part of the song repertoire of Siyuewu Village. Other genres include praise songs, love songs, religious songs, history songs, lullabies, propitious songs, circle dancing songs, and folk songs. Lullabies are the most endangered of these genres.
Milking songs are passed down from mother to daughter or sister to sister, and this singer learnt it from her grandmother when she was seven, her first time to try to milk a cow. Dreaming songs and auspicious songs are free of taboo and are passed down from generation to generation regardless of kin relationship.
Auspicious songs are sung at parties, and sometimes at wedding. Dreaming songs are sung while herding, at parties, etc.

挤奶歌是由母传女或姐妹间互相传授来传承下来的。此处的歌者是在七岁时从外婆那里学唱的这首歌曲。解梦歌曲和吉祥歌无任何禁忌，并且在亲属间代代相传。
吉祥歌通常会在宴会及婚礼庆典上吟唱，而解梦歌曲则在放牧或宴会时吟唱。
