The Plateau Music Project

These songs were recorded by Sgrolma Lhaskyid during June of 2007 in Tha Rgyas Village, Rtsa Zhol Township, Mol Gro Gung Dkar County, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region. Most of her recorded songs were sung by Sgrol dkar (b. 1939) and Lha g.yag (b. 1933). The following are three samples of these two villagers’ songs.
