The Plateau Music Project

In the winter of 2008, Tsering Samdrup, one of our project members from Guinan (Mangra) County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, used his holiday time when most people stayed at home, spending time with their families, and travelled to areas of Amdo in Qinghai, Gansu and Sichuan Provinces. He recorded forty-five endangered Tibetan love songs.

He is currently spending his weekends in the Plateau Music Project office, working on archiving the recordings and such data as song lyrics into our project computer. Please listen to a few love songs that he has recorded.
